"Cloud" takes its name from the pale milky finish that pools and thins across the surface, catching light unevenly the way something suspended in air might. The whole silhouette reads as gently pinched into shape by hand: a tall body swelling into a rounded belly, resting on a small footed base with a raised cylindrical neck at the top.
A band of woven texture wraps around the middle giving the piece a subtle horizontal rhythm, like a linen sash tied around a shoulder. The natural warmth of stoneware shows through in places where the glaze thins, softening the whole object.
Best with a generous, loose arrangement — dahlias, cosmos, branches of Japanese maple, the kind of bouquet that looks like it was just brought in from the garden.
