A handbuilt ceramic vase in marbled blue, white, blush, and amber — wide, generous, and entirely its own. At 11½ inches tall with an 8½ inch diameter and a 6 inch opening, the Marble Bubble Vase is Catto Studio's most voluminous form: a wide squat body rising from a narrow pedestal base, topped with a ruffled bubble rim that looks like it was caught mid-breath.
The glaze is the story here. Blue, white, blush, and amber move across the surface in long swirling streaks — no two sides the same, no angle repeating. From the top, the interior reveals its own world: dimpled with pressed circles near the rim, pooling into warm amber at the base. The kiln decided most of this. Mariette Groen let it.
The wide 6 inch opening holds abundance — full, loose arrangements, branches, peonies, anything that needs room to open properly. Or a single dramatic stem that suddenly looks very important in something this considered.
WHY IT'S SPECIAL
- Marbled glaze in blue, white, blush, and amber: swirling, streaking, unrepeatable — a different composition on every side.
- Ruffled bubble rim: hand-formed and irregular, it gives the vase its name and its movement.
- Wide body on a pedestal base: 8½ inches at its widest, it has real presence — functional and sculptural in equal measure.
- Generous 6 inch opening: made for full, abundant arrangements or a few stems that deserve the space.
- Pressed circle detail on the interior rim: visible from above, a quiet texture that rewards close looking.

THE BRAND
Catto Studio is the ceramic practice of Mariette Groen — handbuilt objects that sit between utility and storytelling. Inspired by natural forms, seasonal rhythms, and the slow logic of making things by hand, each piece is meant to be lived with quietly. Not decorative in the obvious sense. More like something that belongs wherever you put it, and you can't quite imagine the room without it anymore.
