A handbuilt ceramic vase from Catto Studio — sculptural, painterly, and unmistakably made by hand. "Broadstroke" takes its name from the loose vertical brushstrokes of cobalt blue that wrap the round body, flowing downward from the neck like water finding its own path. A tighter band of horizontal stripes at the collar grounds the piece and gives it structure. The blue is painted freehand, allowed to bleed and pool in places, glossy where the glaze catches and matte where it doesn't. No two marks repeat.
The form itself is round-bellied and generous, with a straight cylindrical neck rising cleanly from the shoulder — a shape that reads as both classical and contemporary at once. Deep cobalt lines the inside, a small hidden pleasure only visible from above.
