A hand-made porcelain dish designed to hold a smudging bouquet, an incense stick, or the small objects of a daily ritual. Made in Soissons, France, by ceramic artist Marc Albert as part of Totem Nature's limited second edition. Each dish is thrown by hand, glazed in soft natural tones that shift between celadon blue, grey-green, and beige, and pressed with the delicate imprint of a fern leaf — the fern being one of the oldest plants still living on earth, an ancestral symbol of life, protection, and connection to the natural world.
Every piece is one of a kind. Small variations in glaze color, shape, and the depth of the fern impression are part of the process. The dish is at once functional and decorative — a base for smudging rituals, a rest for incense, or an object that softens the surface it sits on.
Handmade in France. Approximately 24.5 cm x 11.5 cm.
WHY IT'S SPECIAL
- Hand-thrown and hand-glazed in Soissons, France by ceramic artist Marc Albert.
- Part of Totem Nature's limited second edition — each piece is unique and numbered as part of a small run.
- Glazed in soft natural tones: celadon blue, grey-green, beige. Colors and glaze depth vary from piece to piece.
- Pressed with the imprint of a fern leaf — an ancestral symbol of life, protection, and connection to the natural world.
- Multi-use: designed as a base for smudging bouquets and incense sticks, but works equally as a small tray for jewelry, keys, or the objects of a daily ritual.
- Heat-safe porcelain — suitable for burning smudging bouquets, incense, and Palo Santo.
HOW TO USE
Place a lit smudging bouquet or burning incense stick directly on the dish. The porcelain surface catches ash and holds the ember safely as it smolders. When finished, extinguish the smudge fully against the surface of the dish. Wipe clean with a soft cloth between uses.

THE BRAND
Totem Nature is a French brand founded in 2021, hand-tying smudging bouquets and 100%-plant incenses in the south of France. Every product is composed of French-grown organic plants and wild-harvested botanicals, tied by hand, and inspired by the symbolic energy of an animal totem. The dishes are a collaboration with French ceramic artists — extending the same care and craft into the objects that hold the rituals. Ancestral practice, revisited with attention.
