Sayaka is often recommended as a first taste of Ippodo matcha. Smooth and well-balanced, it offers generous umami with just a hint of astringency—enough to keep the profile lively while remaining soft and approachable.
As koicha, Sayaka reveals depth and nuance, with a rich, rounded texture. As usucha, it’s an easy, elegant tea suited to both beginners and seasoned matcha drinkers. Some also choose Sayaka for matcha lattes, drawn to its bright green color, umami richness, and gentle bitterness.
