A premium ceremonial-grade matcha in single-serving sticks, made from shade-grown tea leaves cultivated in some of the purest air and water in Japan. The Nodoka's Premium Matcha is the brand's top-tier matcha — a more refined and aromatic version of their everyday line, characterized by a full, rounded aroma and the distinct umami sweetness that defines high-grade Japanese matcha. The flavor fills the mouth and lingers; the bitterness associated with lesser matcha is almost entirely absent.
Like all matcha, the leaves are grown under shade for several weeks before harvest — a process that reduces catechins (the source of bitterness) and concentrates theanine, the amino acid responsible for matcha's signature umami and its characteristic calm-alert energy. Careful soil preparation and meticulous cultivation methods produce a tea that is several steps above standard culinary matcha. Stone-milled to a fine powder, organic JAS certified.
Tear open a stick, add to water hot or cold, whisk or shake vigorously. The powder is finely milled whole leaf — it suspends in the water rather than dissolving, the same way all matcha does, so a good stir or whisk is essential. The result is a tea that's bright green, rounded, and quietly cooling on the palate.
30 or 8 single-serving sticks. 2g per stick.
WHY IT'S SPECIAL
- Premium grade, shade-grown ichibancha: cultivated in carefully controlled conditions for high theanine and low bitterness — the umami and rounded sweetness are signs of a well-grown matcha, not a marketing claim.
- Cultivated in pristine air and water: the brand selects growing regions for their environmental quality — clean air, mineral-rich water, and meticulously prepared soil.
- Whole leaf, stone-milled to powder: drinking the powder means consuming the entire tea leaf — nutrients, fiber, and aromatics that infusion leaves behind in the pot.
- Rich in theanine, vitamin C, and fiber: shade-growing increases theanine concentration significantly, which is what gives matcha its calm focus rather than the jitter of coffee.
- Naturally lower in catechins: less bitterness than standard matcha, which makes it easier to drink straight without sweetener or milk.
- Organic JAS certified: grown without synthetic fertilizers or pesticides, certified to Japan's organic agricultural standard.
- Single-serving sticks: 2g per stick — the correct dose, pre-measured, sealed for freshness, no scoop required.
HOW TO USE
Traditional (usucha): Empty one stick into a matcha bowl. Add about 70ml of hot water (around 75–80°C / 167–176°F). Whisk in an "M" or "W" motion until the surface is frothy and the powder is fully suspended.
Cold: Empty one stick into a sealed bottle with 150–200ml of cold water. Shake vigorously until fully suspended. Add ice. Stir occasionally as you sip — like all matcha, the powder will settle if left still.
Latte: Empty one stick into a small amount of hot water and whisk to a paste, then add steamed milk.

THE BRAND
The Nodoka is a Japanese tea brand built around a single conviction: tea should be easy to drink and good for you, without compromising on quality. The brand works with farms across Japan that practice natural cultivation — no synthetic fertilizers, no pesticides — and processes the leaves into stone-milled powder rather than loose leaf. The powder format means the entire leaf is consumed, retaining nutrients and aromatics that infusion alone leaves behind in the pot. Hojicha, matcha, sencha — all available in single-serving sticks designed to fit a contemporary daily routine without sacrificing the ceremony.
