Named after the Japanese concept for the fleeting, delicate nature of time, "Hakanai" (儚い) is the olfactory translation of EPHMRL, the central listening room at Stylus—the private acoustic salon opening on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. The 8 oz formulation captures the exact moment a burning flame transforms physical space into an atmospheric memory.
The custom profile behaves like the music fields within the club, built on an analog depth that shifts as it warms. It opens with an immediate, dry strike of warm clove and aromatic spice. As the premium beeswax base melts, it unfolds into a heavily textured core of smoky cade, charred birch wood, and the surprising, nutty warmth of toasted sesame, evoking the rich depth of vintage vinyl. The dry down leaves a permanent, sophisticated shadow of Texas cedarwood and dark patchouli on the skin of the room long after the wick is extinguished.
