Handcrafted in Martha Duncan’s Edinburgh studio, these petite stoneware dishes are a delightful blend of form and function. Each piece is hand-built and kiln-fired to a warm, earthy finish, then hand-painted with a playful fruit motif—think cherries, lemons, or berries—that makes every dish uniquely yours. Perfectly sized for corralling rings, cradling a bar of soap, or sprinkling out your favorite spices, they vary ever so slightly in diameter (just like the photos) and bring a pinch of joy—and a splash of color—to any countertop. Irresistibly charming and utterly practical, they’re simply too cute to resist.

Martha Duncan Studio was founded in 2020 by Edinburgh-based designer Martha Duncan. A Glasgow School of Art architecture graduate, Martha channeled her passion for color, illustration and graphic design into printmaking—and more recently into ceramics and apparel.
Her bright, hand-illustrated motifs spring from daft thoughts, overheard conversations and song lyrics, all delivered with a mischievous wink. Prints are crafted one-by-one: linocuts carved and hand-pulled in her studio, risograph runs printed locally in Edinburgh, and giclée editions produced elsewhere in the UK. Martha’s stoneware and porcelain pieces are wheel-thrown, kiln-fired, and glazed with vivid, food-safe colors, each one lovingly finished by hand.
Because every plate, print and garment is made by hand, no two items are exactly alike—each bears its own subtle variations in texture and hue, ensuring you own a true original.
You can find Martha’s work online, at makers’ markets around the UK, and through a network of wonderful stockists across Scotland and beyond. A current list of stockists is available on her website.
