A matcha almond spread, made in Paris by Confiture Parisienne — the only jam manufacturer in the city — using matcha that is stone-milled around the corner on the day it's delivered. The tea comes from Artefact, a house on rue des Blancs Manteaux in the Marais, where Fadel grinds Tencha leaves to matcha powder on-site and delivers the batch by bike to the Confiture Parisienne atelier. What arrives is closer to "matcha-minute" than the shelf-stable version most spreads are built on: the green is denser, the aroma more vegetal, the bitterness more direct.
The rest of the composition is a quiet act of restraint. Almost every matcha spread on the market uses white chocolate — the easy answer, sweet and pale, which flattens the tea into candy. Confiture Parisienne chose almond instead. Almond has body, character, real nutritional value, and enough discretion to let the leaf speak. The result is a spread that is genuinely green, slightly granular, and long on the palate.
The rest happens by the spoon.
WHY IT'S SPECIAL
- Stone-milled matcha from Artefact, Le Marais: Tencha leaves ground to powder on the day of use, delivered by bike from rue des Blancs Manteaux to the Confiture Parisienne atelier. Fresher, denser, and more vegetal than shelf-stable matcha.
- Almond instead of white chocolate: the industry default is white chocolate, which sweetens and pales the tea into candy. Confiture Parisienne uses almond — which grounds the matcha rather than covering it.
- Small-batch production: made in the only jam manufacturer in Paris, in small quantities, by hand.
- A genuine green: dense pigment, slightly granular texture, long finish. Reads as tea, not confection.
- More object than pantry item: a spread built to be treated with the same care as the matcha inside it.
HOW TO USE
On a slice of toasted brioche. In a dollop on plain yogurt. Inside a warm muffin. On a scoop of vanilla ice cream. As filling for a sablé breton. Or, as inevitably happens, straight from the jar with a spoon.

THE BRAND
Confiture Parisienne is the only jam manufacturer in Paris — founded in 2015 in the 12th arrondissement, quietly reviving a tradition that once flourished in the city when orchards still stood in what became its wealthiest neighborhoods. The atelier makes jams and spreads in small batches, favoring higher fruit content and lower sugar than the industrial standard (up to 65% fruit in the jams). The spreads are treated as a separate discipline: precise ingredient sourcing, small production, and considered pairings — like the choice of almond over white chocolate for their matcha. Every jar is designed as an object to be given as much as it's an ingredient to be used.
