Kanro’s name means “sweet dew.” This Gyokuro tea has a plentiful, rich character that lingers until the last drop. Unlike Sencha, Gyokuro is shade-grown and harvested only once a year in spring. This shading process maximizes the tea’s natural antioxidant and anti-irritant properties, producing a concentrated flavor reminiscent of freshly squeezed tea leaves. With its plentiful umami and long finish, Kanro is perfect for slow sipping in small servings and makes an excellent introduction to Ippodo’s Gyokuro.
