A handbuilt ceramic votive, white with three hand-sculpted flowers at the rim — amber, rust, and dark, each one glazed differently, each one irreplaceable. At 4 inches wide and 2 inches tall, the votive holder sits low and wide, somewhere between a catch-all and a small still life.
The outer surface is pressed with circles — a quiet, repetitive texture that contrasts with the raw, torn-looking rim above it. The interior is smooth celadon, pale and calm. The flowers at the edge look like they arrived there on their own.
Use it on a nightstand for rings and small things. Set a votive inside and watch what the texture ceramic does with candlelight. Set a single flower head in it and call it done. Mariette Groen made it to be lived with, not looked at from a distance.
WHY IT'S SPECIAL
- Three hand-sculpted flowers at the rim: each glazed individually in amber, rust, and dark — no two alike, no two repeatable.
- Pressed circle texture on the outer surface: a deliberate, tactile pattern that makes the piece as interesting to hold as to look at.
- Raw, irregular rim: left exactly as it came from Mariette Groen's hands — neither finished nor unfinished, just right.
- Works as a votive holder, catch-all, or small flower vessel — quietly useful in any form.

THE BRAND
Catto Studio is the ceramic practice of Mariette Groen — handbuilt objects that sit between utility and storytelling. Inspired by natural forms, seasonal rhythms, and the slow logic of making things by hand, each piece is meant to be lived with quietly. Not decorative in the obvious sense. More like something that belongs wherever you put it, and you can't quite imagine the room without it anymore.
