Iris Pallida is a dedication to one of perfumery’s most treasured raw materials. To obtain the powdery-woody aroma of iris butter, nearly a thousand kilograms of rhizomes are dried and cured for four years before yielding just two kilograms of extract. Marie Jeanne spent a year and 160 trials refining this formula, blending Iris Florentina butter, Iris Pallida butter, and Iris Germanica absolute into a modern iris accord that avoids dated violet tones. At 28% concentration, the fragrance projects beautifully while remaining delicately elegant. Perfumer Alexis Dadier elevates the iris with sandalwood, patchouli, and vetiver for a sensual, contemporary finish.
