Dogabi Oil Lamp No. 890 is a one-of-a-kind hand-thrown porcelain oil lamp with marbled ivory glaze and 23.5k gold detailing.
Thrown on the wheel and sculpted by hand, this guardian carries a warm, mineral presence. The glaze moves between ivory and iron-flecked amber, creating a marbled, almost volcanic surface. Gold horns, teeth, and third eye punctuate the texture with sharp clarity.
When lit, the flame rises from the crown and the piece shifts from sculptural object to living ritual form. Earth-toned. Alert. Slightly defiant.
Size: 95 × 90 × 120 (h) mm
Weight: 325g
WHY IT’S SPECIAL
-
One-of-a-kind piece — No. 890 exists once.
-
Hand-thrown porcelain — Wheel-thrown, sculpted, and pierced by hand.
-
High-fire ceramic — Oxidation fired at 2102°F, glaze refired at 1472°F.
-
23.5k British gold accents — Horns, teeth, and third eye.
-
Functional sculpture — Designed for liquid lamp oil use.
The glaze gives it a grounded, almost geological quality — less celestial, more elemental. A contemporary interpretation of the Korean dokkaebi spirit: mischievous, protective, never neutral.

THE ARTIST
Dogabi reinterprets the Korean goblin — neither villain nor saint, but a complex guardian spirit. Each oil lamp bridges folklore and contemporary ceramic practice, functioning both as sculpture and usable object.
No. 890 feels grounded. It does not feel passive.
