AS SEEN IN T MAGAZINE
These Ceramics Have Teeth
Thank you, T Magazine, for featuring one of our favorite ceramicists, Kim Hyung-Jun, and his extraordinary Dogabi sculptures.
In “These Ceramics Have Teeth”, T Magazine describes how Kim reimagines Korea’s mythical dokkaebi spirits as expressive porcelain beings — “fluid and full of imagination,” each one hand-thrown, carved, and glazed to perfection.
We’re honored that Takamichi Beauty Room is the first gallery outside Korea to present Kim’s new large-scale Dogabi works — monumental porcelain sculptures with 23.5 karat gold teeth, fired up to six times to achieve their haunting, luminous glazes.
Visit us in New York City to see the Dogabi in person and meet the spirits that have traveled across oceans — not as ghosts, but as guests.
