THE BRAND
In 1948 the Prior of the Carthusian Monastery on the breathtaking Italian island of Capri discovered a volume of historic perfume formulas dating back to when the monks living there began to realize the exquisite aromatics of the herbs and blossoms on the island. With the Pope's consent, the formulas were revived by a local chemist and developed into a unique range of fragrances called Carthusia. Today, Carthusia continues to practice its centuries-old knowledge and has an inseparable bond with Capri – the result of zealous and professional research into components derived exclusively from Capri's environment.
