The Founders:
Nick Grossenbacher is an alchemist, product formulator, herbalist, historian, and bookbinder. Nick has immersed himself in studies of herbalism and traditional healing with regional experts worldwide and is a graduate of the Spagyricus School of Alchemy in Washington under esteemed alchemist Robert Bartlett. His studies of traditional medicine have taken him to India, the Middle East, the Balkans, Guatemala, and Scotland. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of Southern California and an M.A. in Medieval Middle Eastern History from the University of Washington.
Crispin Clarke heralds from a career in community mental health and consumer-facing enterprise digital health. As an experienced healthcare provider, yoga teacher, and lifelong environmentalist, he became very interested in the alchemical tradition as a complementary source of potent and sustainable remedies for holistic wellness. After the Covid-19 shutdown, he first applied the precursor of Nick's Aurora balm to the chronic minor wounds on his waistline from wearing an insulin pump due to his Type 1 diabetes--and he was amazed to notice rapid improvements in his skin's healing, thus beginning his involvement with alchemical skincare. He holds a B.A. in Sociology & Anthropology from Swarthmore College, PA.
